100 art blog reviews
Right now, we are working to finalise our first 100 reviews. We have produced 100 draft reviews of art blogs, and must now finalise those not yet published. This will take a number of weeks to complete.

101 to 150 art blog reviews
Once we have 100 art blog reviews published, we will start to produce new reviews at the rate of one or two a week. At this time, we will be looking for up to 50 art blogs to review.

Quality Art Blogs
We want to showcase the best art blogs. We want more people to become interested in art, and believe that reading art blogs is a good first step for many. We also want to help existing readers easily identify any other art blog of interested to them. Quality factors that interest us include:

• High quality writing – not necessarily in absolute terms, but more that the writing lends itself to the subject matter.
• The blog is consistently updated with an appropriate amount of content (i.e. one long post once a month can be equal to several smaller posts).

An Open, Balanced, Selection Criteria
Every art blog we review is selected according to our selection criteria, which aims to provide a balanced coverage of the art blogging scene on an ongoing scene. Quality counts, it counts a lot, but whenever we face a non-obvious choice, we seek to ensure that our coverage is balanced. In those instances, the balancing factors we consider include:

• Popularity – we look to balance our coverage between under-exposed art blogs, those that are already read regularly, and those that have become very popular.
• Geographical focus – although major cities like New York and London will dominate, we are very committed to profiling smaller cities and community-oriented initiatives.
• Writer’s role – there are far less art historians, art dealers, and art collectors writing blogs than there are artists and art reviewers. Working within this reality, we will try to ensure that our coverage is as varied as possible.
• Topics written about, and style of writing – the combination of art topics written about, combined with the style or writing (and whether video, audio, or imagery is used) means that the vast majority of art blogs have a unique feeling about them. We look to pin-point this factor both when making selection decisions, and in our review of the art blog.

• We want to showcase the best art blogs.
• We want more people to become interested in art, and believe that reading art blogs is a good first step.
• We also want to help existing readers easily identify any other art blog of interested to them.

We have two more specific objectives that apply at this point in time:

• Art blogging should not be limited be geographical location. Writers providing important community or local coverage of their art scene should be recognised for the excellence of their coverage.
• A healthy community includes participants with a range of expertise, experience, and commitment. Excellent writing from across the whole art blogging scene should be promoted.

We seek to achieve our objectives by providing reviews of art blogs, by providing an art blog directory, and by interviewing the very best art bloggers to find out how they produce their extraordinary art blogs.
