Scott White Contemporary Art Gallery
The Gallery represents private collections and estates in acquiring art work by modern and contemporary artists like Willem de Kooning, Alexander Calder and Alberto Giacometti. They also promote emerging and mid-career artists.

Susan Street Fine Art Gallery

Well known art galleries in San Diego
The San Diego Museum of Art is located in Balboa Park and the building was designed by William Templeton Johnson. Art pieces range from 5,000 B.C. to the present. There is a strong collection of Spanish works. There is also an Asian art gallery, some Impressionist paintings and a few Georgia O’Keeffes.
The Timken Gallery, also Balboa Park, displays a collection of European old master paintings, sculptures and tapestries. It also holds American and Russian paintings.
Found in La Jolla area, The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) predominately exhibits art from the 1950’s to the present.
Art Events in San Diego
Held in September in Park North is the ArtWalk on the Bay. The festival features fine art, music, food and performances. The event enables local and international artists to display their work, all the while encouraging Southern Californians to get more involved with art.
There is also an ArtWalk festival held in Little Italy sometime in April. You can view and buy paintings and sculpture, as well as admire dance and street performance. Admission is free, and gives the public the opportunity to meet well known artists.
A monthly gallery walk is held on every second Saturday, also in North Park. It is the most established artwalk in San Diego’s history.
Artists associated with San Diego
Yolanda Lopez is a painter, printmaker, educator and film producer. The main theme throughout her work focuses on Mexican American women in a way that challenges their ethnic stereotype.
