Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery first opened way back in 1885. The main site is Chamberlain Square, Birmingham, B3 3DH. There are six more museums located throughout Birmingham. The Barber Institute of Fine Arts, located in the University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B15 2TS. Somewhat of a hidden gem, The Barber Institute of Fine Arts is an exceptional small collection. Featuring paintings, prints, and sculpture from the 13th to the 20th century, with an emphasis on Old Master and Impressionist collections. Art Events in Birmingham
ArtsFest – with an emphasis on musical and performance arts, but also featuring other visual arts. The largest free arts festival attracted around 270,000 visitors over the course of the weekend in 2009.
The National Fine Art & Antiques Fair is staged at The NEC, Birmingham. Around 100 dealers are represented, with fine art for sale being vetted to ensure authenticity. A fair for those with generous budgets and an interest in fine art.

Sir Edward Coley Burne-Jones - August 28, 1833 - June 17, 1898. was a British artist, closely associated with that of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. Initially convinced to take up art and then mentored by Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Burne-Jones went on to form his own style.
