Implicit Art is one of those art blog that works so well on two levels: read the latest entries, and you see the work of a polished, experienced commentator; read posts over the duration of Implicit Art’s existence, and you get an excellent insight into Nathaniel Stern’s life over the period. Whichever approach you take, you will be in for an interesting read, for Stern is an ever-busy explorer on many fronts.

In 2001, street art received far less mainstream recognition than it does now. The Wooster Collective art blog was founded to document and preserve art which can be ‘washed away’ at any time. Since then, street art has grown in popularity, and the Wooster Collective has grown to become one of the most effective promoters and exhibiters of street art around.

The Intrepid Art Collector blog is comprised of news, events, and articles, all of which focus on buying and appreciating art on a budget. The theme of not needing an unlimited cash-fund in order to own an impressive art collection is a re-occuring one, with many entries pointing to works-of-art or art-exhibits where there is an opportunity to get value for money.

The two central themes of the ARTmostfierce blog are the New York art scene, and the perspective of a fanatical art collector. The prodigious number of articles produced – about one every other day on average – gives you a clear idea of just how committed Miguel must be to the art scene and his collecting activities.

There is a good mixture of long and shorter articles on the blog, with self-produced content combining well with snippets of sourced material. ARTmostfierce also includes a few interviews – we particularly enjoyed the 8th November 2008 interview with Susan Meiselas.

The author of Modern Art Obsession, refers to himself as MAO, and described Modern Art Obsession as being ‘The Rants of a Completely Obsessed NYC Modern Art Collector’.

Entries are regularly posted, and range from financial updates to art news to art reviews to interviews. We found the content variously amusing and thought provoking. The site is easy to navigate, and contains lots of links that may be of interest - including a list of photography blogs, stemming from Mike’s increased interest in this area.

Karen D’Amico uses her art blog primarily as a vehicle for sharing her art, and for recording visits to various art events. Whilst these two areas are two key themes, Fluid Thinking is a good description for the editorial remit D'Amico employs, with a wide variety of (art-oriented) subjects being covered overall. Whilst a whole range of subjects and genres are covered, the engaging and upbeat writing style, gives this art blog a consistent feel.
