The Exploring Color and Creativity art blog is partly a record of Nita Leland’s artistic journey, and partly an educational resource – with tips and tuition around drawing, painting, and collages. Artist and book reviews also have regular entries.
We love the video tutorial entries where Leland guides us through various art techniques. They are easy to follow, and there is some great advice. The entries where Leland suggests art books that can be used to furthering your art education do a great job of reinforcing these posts – with most of the literature relating to color techniques and selection. Leland also posts a lot about her classes, where she showcases and appraises her students’ work.
Altogether, this is a great site for artists looking for art tips.

Leland is a watercolor painter, teacher, and author. Her art explores the light conditions of the different times of day and the mood that is created. Some of her books include The Creative Artist; Creative Collage Techniques; and Exploring Color Coloring Book. She teaches in workshops and via videos sessions.
