Bioephemera
Visit the Bioephemera art blog.
Bioephemera is produced by the biologist and artist, Jessica Palmer. Bioephemera started out as a solo project, which is remains as an archive – see the original Bioephemera. In February 2008, Palmer moved Bioephemera to scienceblogs.com where it continues to reside.
Bioephemera is not strictly an art blog. In fact, let us be honest, this is really a science blog that crosses over into art on occasion. So why the profile? Two very straightforward reasons.
The first is that Bioephemera provides a unique, extremely compelling perspective on art, nature, and science. Take, for example, Palmer’s post of March 25th titled Beautiful Decay: Three Collections. Who could be better placed than a PhD biologist and artist to write about art and decay? These occasions make Bioephemera a unique read.
The second is that Palmer is a very smart commentator, whose writing is always both first class and never too technical for those of us who do not have the benefit of a biology doctorate. Those seeking to broaden their horizons will find Bioephemera an excellent way to do so.
