Art Vent’s author, Carol Diehl, holds the firm belief that for art to be compelling visually, it must be compelling conceptually. Diehl’s own art meets this requirement by incorporating words, numbers, and symbols. Her approach has evolved over the 30 years she has painted. To take a look at her early work and follow it through to current projects is something we would strongly recommend. It is a remarkably progressive and cohesive journey.
Diehl uses Art Vent as a vehicle for exploring the sublime and ridiculous, covering both the art world and life in general. This approach makes for an interesting change from most art blogs, with Diehl often picking-up and/or covering things that others have not.
Those who become familiar with Diehl’s art will appreciate her art blog all the more: it is the continual keenness of observation that make both work so well.
