Conscientious
Visit the Conscientious art blog.
Conscientious is predominately about contemporary fine-art photography, with the occasional post covering some other subject that has taken Colberg’s interest. Colberg covers his subject from a variety of angles. Showcase reviews of photographs, links to articles on other sites, interviews with photographers, and original reviews of photography books all combine to produce a compelling and fast-paced mix.
We particularly liked the photography book reviews, and the ever-expanding list of interviews with photographers. Colberg is well-known for his interviews, which have appeared in publications such as Yvi, Orion, and Chinese Photography. It is easy to see why the interviews are so popular: conversations flow in an interesting and cohesive way.
Anyone interested in photography will want to check out Conscientious.
We like this article:
A Conversation with Peter Granser, 5th August 2008
Why we like it:
It is an interview with Granser about his photo-book, Signs. The photographs are shot in Texas, with an emphasis on political and religious fundamentalism. The discussion provides some great insight into Granser’s artistic approach.
