The eponymous Catherine Spaeth art blog is comprised mostly of art reviews, along with the occasional anecdote.
Spaeth is driven to share her knowledge and enjoyment of art, drawing upon her experience of, and passion for, the subject. Spaeth’s entries tend to be extremely thorough, often covering the subject matter in a great deal of detail. Whilst Spaeth takes care to back up referential observations with some context, we would not recommend this blog to someone unfamiliar with the subject. We think this is a blog that would be most useful either to someone thoroughly familiar the art world, or someone who knows the ropes and want to further their learning.
Although erudite, Spaeth is extremely friendly and accessible. The result is that the comments section of her art blog is often busy and interesting – an example being the entry for September 29th 2008, where there are 15 comments.
