Absent Without Leave
Visit the Absent Without Leave art blog.
Ivan Pope’s art blog documents his life as an artist, and provides bite-size chunks of information of things in the art world that have captured his attention. The art blog has been compiled over 4 years and now features a wealth of information.
When talking about his life as an artist, Pope’s approach is to ‘download’ whatever is on his mind in relation the subject, and serve it up on his art blog. The entries are filed under a range of directly accessible links, and/or accessible as regular blog entries; we have found ourselves on a couple of occasions clicking on something we had not noticed before, and unearthing a hidden gem of an article.
Interspersed amongst the relatively lengthy my-life-as-an-artist pieces are articles that showcase something in the art world Pope has found interesting. These articles are presented in classic scrapbook style. These entries are interesting in their own right, but we also found they fired our imaginations – or at least our memories – and took us off in new directions.
Absent Without Leave is a site that we would recommend to anyone looking for something other than the latest mainstream art news.
