Fluid Thinking
Visit the Fluid Thinking art blog.
Karen D’Amico uses her art blog primarily as a vehicle for sharing her art, and for recording visits to various art events. Whilst these two areas are two key themes, Fluid Thinking is a good description for the editorial remit D’Amico employs, with a wide variety of (art-oriented) subjects being covered overall. Whilst a whole range of subjects and genres are covered, the engaging and upbeat writing style, gives this art blog a consistent feel.
We find the entries that showcase D’Amico’s art interesting. She is inspired by the interconnections that exist between systems and their composite elements. It is instructive to explore this approach from the viewpoint of an individual: every part of ‘us’ continuously faces a process of refinement, whereby external influences fight existing traits for pre-eminence. D’Aminco’s art develops from this premise, often utilizing a subset of composite objects as a vehicle to variously order, explore, and deconstruct.
Reviews of events primarily focus on the aspects that D’Amico enjoyed, although constructive criticism is included on occasion. This approach tends to be employed with the other types of entry on Fluid Thinking – which include everything from sort references, through to investigative pieces – with D’Amico clearly adopting an the most interesting things win the right to be written about approach.
We think it is particularly telling that Fluid Thinking is popular amongst other art bloggers and art websites, and commend it ourselves to any art lover. We also think that this would be one of the best sites to visit if you are an artist looking to start your own site.
